Greg the Butcher has carved out a tasty niche for himself at Bayside. He loves chewing the fat with his loyal customers and helping them pick out what to eat for dinner.

Greg opened the store in May 2021. With a delicious range and sharp prices, it was well received by the local community.

“I did my apprenticeship in Frankston almost 40 years ago, so I am very proud now to manage such a great store in the heart of Bayside,” says Greg.

He loves having a laugh and a joke with his customers – building rapport and getting to know them on a first-name basis.

“Our community is so loyal. I love their open and honest feedback. They share their thoughts when things are good – and not so good, giving us every opportunity to enhance what we offer and become their favourite local butcher.”

Greg loves cutting meat and creating displays that help inspire the inner foodie in all of us. He highly recommends his slow-cooked American beef ribs, new Carlton Draught sausages and juicy scotch fillet steaks. He also has a tasty range of smallgoods to nibble on.

Bayside holds a special place in his heart. “I was born and bred in Frankton. Bayside has always been my local stomping ground – it is the place where I have so many memories. We are incredibly proud to be a part of this fantastic centre.”

The local business he visits the most is Henry’s Mercato. He’s also a big fan of the chips at Schnitz and the pork rolls at the Vietnamese That Bakery.

Locals don’t have to fear the wurst. Greg is dedicated to serving his community and won’t be hanging up his black apron any time soon.
