Artist - Abby Rich

Bio - Abbey Rich is a public and exhibiting artist based on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation in Naarm, Melbourne. My work predominantly looks at gender and environment, with a particular interest in accessible and community co-designed public art making. I have created over 40 mural works across the country and have spent the past year developing sculptural works and concepts ready for public space.

Art - This one reference all the little things I used to do as a kid growing up in Frankston. The things I remember fondly, small journeys I took from home. You’ll spot figs that I used to pinch overhanging the park behind my house, the warm glow of a western summer sunset over the bay, jelly fish eggs and wobbly seaweed shapes that we used to throw at each other as kids, you’ll see the silhouettes of birds coming for your fish and chips and other little moments that feel like home to me. The boardwalk, gum leaves and the warm colours found in our beautiful environment on Boon Wurrung Land.

Artwalk Number - 7

Location – Internal Level 1 Bayside Shopping Centre, Opposite JB HIFI
